Girls………even if you are more like a tom boy – dressed in jeans and T-shirt, I am sure you can’t wait for your Prom Night. Why? Because of lots of reasons but mainly to dress up and impress. Whatever your size, you too can be girlie.
The last time you dressed up like this, may have been when you were a bridesmaid but didn’t choose the dress!
Prom night is like the middle party dress before you go on to the next stage – End of college event then turns out to be a ball because you enjoyed the your prom so much, cocktail parties, balls, any special function.
So yes, it’s a special time. So it needs planning!! IT’S NOT TOO LATE. But you can’t break the bank!!
Black to me is the safe bet…………..you may think it being more seductive and sexy but you will blend in to the background and won’t stand out. How many items in your wardrobe do you have that are black already?
Colour, it has to be for me – there are so many stunning shades and styles at the moment. Sequined, bows, frills, lace whatever your choice, satin, taffeta, silk – you will feel like a princess. Wraps are a good accessory for your wardrobe to assist those off the shoulder dresses.
You will need help with the right style to suit you. Unfortunately I have been present in some really expensive boutiques watching owners sell their luxurious items with comments “oh yes, you look absolutely wonderful” but a lot of these owners don’t have any experience in what REALLY suits the figure of their client – after all do they care, they just want a sale!
The girl is obviously excited and of course can get the item taken in/out and because of this a lot of the time feels obliged to the assistant helping her.

Look at your budget and don’t go over. It’s up to you if you want to include accessories in that price.
You may well be able to utilise something in your wardrobe that you will be able to dress up for the occasion and join up with accessories.
Perhaps get a dress that can also be worn whilst on holiday. Remember if you buy an expensive dress – this can be used for future balls as long as the weight doesn’t change too much. I know what to look for when buying and could show you some tips.
Shoes are an item that makes such a difference to a dress too.
Obviously hiring is an option from formal outfitters.
Vintage shops, charity shops etc but will need a good tailors to alter as I bet your shape wasn’t the same as the person who used to wear it.
Go on, be flamboyant with style and confidence and knock them down with your smile. Feel like a celebrity as you glide in through the door.
