A CAPSULE WARDROBE

Filed under: Fashion — Michelle @ 12:21 pm

People in these times are looking more into what they are spending their money on and therefore they are thinking more about what they can achieve from their style by getting the basics right and achieving a capsule wardrobe.

Some of your items may have reached charity shops already and are ready for a ‘new you’.

20-30 interchangeable pieces should suffice in anyone’s wardrobe rather than spending fortunes on clothes over the years that you really never get the proper wear out of. Some people, I can’t believe never even wear the item? Stupidity in these times.

Whilst shopping think about how you can utilise that piece with other garments you already have. Tops are easier, I feel as they can adequately be worn for work, for play - with jeans, trousers, skirts, under dresses.

You will find you are shopping longer so you need to be organised before you set out but you will end up saving money, which is what its all about.

When it was good a couple of years ago - people were going crazy with their money and keeping up with everything that was on-trend and just had to have the latest item. Now the choice is advertised a lot more generally ie: charity shops, vintage wear being worn by celebrities to make it, I believe a lot more exciting - everyone seems to be getting a lot more open minded in the fashion world, which I definitely promote and to me as you probably know - IT’S NOT ABOUT FASHION - IT’S ABOUT STYLE and INTRODUCING FASHION PIECES.

. Mix and match colours, textures and styles.
. Move out of your comfort zone when shopping.
. Try charity shops.
. Look at your body shape.
. Be ruthless to move on.
. Recycle - give to charity/friends/family.
. Some fashion stays in ie: nautical, classic, tailoring, a little bit of
floral.
. People who constantly buy from the high street each week/month -
they are items that are not always going to last, so end up spending
more in the long run!
. More people are taking notice - they make contact with me, which
is great.
. Keep it simple, neat and tidy.
. Organise for your own lifestyle needs.
