STEP INTO ECO-FRIENDLY DESIGNER CHIC

CALLING ALL YOU ECO-FASHIONISTAS………

How often do I hear my ‘fashion statement’ clients say whilst I’m sorting their footwear for them “well I haven’t worn those in a while“.
Reasons are generally they’re not wearing their “on trend” designer footwear due to them being in need of repair or shabby looking from too much wear from the last season and are wanting to get more responsible.

Well how exciting to hear about creative designer Sergio Rossi eco-shoes launch on the 5th June 2009 owned by PPR Group as are Gucci, YSL, Boucheron - all promoting quality, designer wear that are specifically made from recycled leather, liquid wood and plant dyes with an eco sensitive tanner. Sergio Rossi has been assisted in the making of this eco-shoe by German Fraunhofer Institut, a world leader in research of alternative materials.

No plastic in sight, I reckon they’ll have to suit the more refined clientele to begin with, who are wanting to promote eco-friendly clothing at £330. High heeled, but being comfortable and adaptable are suitable for stylish office ladies who like to get through their day with a clear conscience right through to the evening whether its a meeting at a bar/function.

I just think it would be fab to see a pair being worn by anyone in the worldwide limelight - politicians’ wives perhaps? International stars to get the ball rolling for all the fashionistas out there.

At the end of the day, it’s what I would call ‘classic chic’ and yes okay the price tag may put people off at first (isn’t everything eco ’til people starting wearing the product?), but once word gets around ladies will be happy to broadcast they’re walking tall saving the planet at the same time as well as looking and feeling good.

It’s all about really redesigning are thoughts initially and we just have to start somewhere.

…..It’s exciting, worthwhile and the way forward for a more sustainable planet.
